The ILS invited a variety of speakers on diverse topics to speak at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention. By inviting these speakers and publishing their papers, the ILS does not intend endorse their accuracy or findings. Rather, the World Conference on Drowning Prevention is an opportunity to exchange ideas that may have resonance for advancing world water safety.

It is the view of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) that the material presented and exchanged (e.g. abstracts, papers, PowerPoint presentations, working papers, workshop reports etc.) at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention and on this website should, wherever possible and permitted within the rights of the authors and presenters, be widely disseminated in order to contribute to the global debate, increase awareness and exchange of information in drowning, water safety and water related injury, that threatens child and adult survival and development.
